Employee Training & Development

All new employees participate in a comprehensive onboarding program covering foundation repair principles, jobsite safety, equipment operation, company procedures, and performance expectations.

Training includes classroom instruction and hands-on field training under the supervision of experienced foremen and field leaders. During their first 90 days, employees are evaluated to ensure they demonstrate the knowledge, workmanship, and safety practices required to meet company standards.

Because foundation repair is a specialized trade, employee development continues beyond the initial onboarding period. Straight Line Construction maintains a full-time Safety Director responsible for developing and delivering company safety programs.

The Safety Director creates safety training materials, delivers safety instruction, coordinates employee certifications, oversees compliance initiatives, and performs routine jobsite inspections of field crews. These inspections help verify that crews are following company safety standards, manufacturer requirements, jobsite procedures, and applicable regulatory expectations.

The Safety Director is OSHA-certified and guides field employees, foremen, supervisors, and management on safe work practices and jobsite risk reduction.

Straight Line Construction also continues to expand employee certifications, including First Aid and CPR training for qualified team members. Equipment-specific and job-specific certifications are provided as needed based on employee role, project requirements, and field responsibilities.

Independent Engineering Review & Permit Compliance

Protecting property owners through independent engineering oversight is a key component of our foundation repair process.

In Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico, foundation repair projects involving helical piers and micropiles typically require building permits and engineering review. Straight Line Construction obtains the required permits for these projects and works with licensed third-party structural engineers to provide engineering plans, permitting documentation, and project closeout documentation when required by the local jurisdiction.

Projects requiring engineering review or permitting are designed and reviewed by a licensed structural engineer serving as the independent Engineer of Record. While Straight Line Construction employs experienced technical personnel and foundation repair specialists, we intentionally utilize independent third-party engineering firms to prepare, review, stamp, and approve engineering plans.

This independent review process provides an additional layer of protection for homeowners, business owners, property managers, general contractors, and facility operators by ensuring foundation repair recommendations are evaluated by a licensed engineering professional who is independent of the contractor performing the work.

About Ram Jack

Ram Jack is a family-owned business that began operations in 1968, in Ada, OK, where we currently source our piers and brackets. Back then, concrete piering was the original repair method used simply because it was the only technology available at the time. Over time, it became evident that concrete piers did not provide long-term stabilization of foundations and only provided a short-term warranty period. To guarantee the highest grade of customer satisfaction, a greater solution needed to be found.

The Ram Jack owners embarked on a research program to develop a foundation repair system to stand the test of time. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office first issued a patent to Ram Jack for its foundation repair system in 1985. Over the next few years, additional refinements and patents have followed, resulting in the strongest patented system in the industry.
