Straight Line Construction has successfully performed polyurethane foam injection on hundreds of projects throughout Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Wyoming.

Poly foam injection is similar to mud jacking in that holes are drilled in the existing concrete and a stabilizing material is pumped to fill voids and re-level the concrete. Instead of a cement slurry, polyurethane foam injection relies on a stable, durable, light weight foam that expands as it is injected to lift and re-level the concrete.
Poly foam injection is performed by drilling small diameter holes through the existing concrete. The expanding polyurethane foam is then injected. The foam expands as it is placed and fills voids and raises the existing concrete in a controlled manner.

Similar to mud jacking, polyurethane foam injection can be used to re-level concrete slabs and flatwork that have settled. Settlement of these features can cause improper surface drainage that may result in runoff water being directed towards structures which can adversely affect building foundations and their performance. Uneven or out of level concrete slabs and flatwork can also cause significant safety and trip hazards.

Polyurethane foam injection is a relatively non-disruptive technique that can be used to re-level existing concrete slabs and flatwork to re-establish positive surface drainage away from structures and improve safety associated with tripping hazards. Polyurethane foam injection requires very little equipment and disturbance of the existing concrete and surrounding areas is minimal.

Polyurethane foam injection can be utilized in a variety of applications including:
  • Raising existing concrete slabs and flatwork to re-establish positive drainage away from structures.
  • Re-level existing flatwork such as sidewalks and patios to reduce hazards associated with tripping.
Some of the advantages of polyurethane foam injection include:
  • No drill spoils are created.
  • Quick installation.
  • Damage to existing concrete is minimal.
  • Can be performed in most weather conditions.
  • Impacts on existing landscaping and surrounding areas are minimal.
  • The polyurethane foam is a very lightweight material which reduces risk of the added material causing additional settlement of existing concrete flatwork.

About Ram Jack

Ram Jack is a family-owned business that began operations in 1968, in Ada, OK, where we currently source our piers and brackets. Back then, concrete piering was the original repair method used simply because it was the only technology available at the time. Over time, it became evident that concrete piers did not provide long-term stabilization of foundations and only provided a short-term warranty period. To guarantee the highest grade of customer satisfaction, a greater solution needed to be found.

The Ram Jack owners embarked on a research program to develop a foundation repair system to stand the test of time. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office first issued a patent to Ram Jack for its foundation repair system in 1985. Over the next few years, additional refinements and patents have followed, resulting in the strongest patented system in the industry. Ram Jack driven pilings are ICC-ES recognized (International Construction Code—Evaluation Services). Ram Jack is one of only two ICC-ES recognized foundation repair companies in the industry. Ram Jack’s products meet or exceed code requirements set down by ICC-ES for both commercial and residential properties.
