Foundation Repair Warranty

Foundation Repair Warranty

When investing in foundation repair, the warranty behind the work matters. Straight Line Construction has been repairing foundations since 1982, and we stand behind our work with warranty coverage based on the repair system and services performed.

Warranty coverage varies by service. Qualifying Ram Jack foundation pier installations carry a Transferable Limited Lifetime Warranty and may also qualify for additional protection through the Ram Jack Dealers Limited Warranty Trust. Other foundation repair, waterproofing, concrete, and structural repair services may include Straight Line Construction workmanship coverage, manufacturer warranties, or other warranty coverage based on the products and services provided.

Ram Jack Pier Limited Lifetime Warranty

Qualifying Ram Jack pier installations performed by Straight Line Construction carry a Transferable Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Ram Jack helical and driven pier systems are designed to transfer structural loads to more competent supporting soils or strata. For helical pier installations, Straight Line Construction measures and records installation torque, providing documentation of installation conditions and helping verify that the pier system was installed to the requirements established for the repair.

The pier warranty applies to the qualifying Ram Jack pier system. It does not guarantee against movement of unsupported portions of the foundation, surrounding soils, or other areas of the structure that were not included in the original foundation repair.

Qualifying warranty coverage becomes applicable upon completion and payment in full.

What Is the Ram Jack Warranty Trust?

One of the advantages of choosing a qualifying Ram Jack pier system is the additional protection available through the Ram Jack Dealers Limited Warranty Trust.

The Warranty Trust is designed to provide continuity of eligible warranty coverage if the original participating Ram Jack dealer becomes inactive or is otherwise unavailable to fulfill an eligible warranty obligation. Eligible warranty service can then be addressed through the Ram Jack dealer network rather than relying solely on the continued operation of the original installing dealer.

This provides an additional level of long-term protection for property owners choosing qualifying Ram Jack foundation pier systems.

Is the Ram Jack Foundation Repair Warranty Transferable?

Yes. Qualifying Ram Jack pier warranties are transferable.

If you are buying or selling a property that has previously had Ram Jack foundation piers installed, contact Straight Line Construction for assistance reviewing the available project and warranty information and determining the next steps for transferring the warranty.

What Warranties Apply to Other Foundation Repair Services?

Not every foundation or structural repair requires a Ram Jack pier, and not every service carries the same warranty.

Depending on the service performed, warranty protection may include:

  • Installation or workmanship coverage provided by Straight Line Construction.
  • Manufacturer warranties on qualifying products or components such as sump pumps, carbon-fiber reinforcement systems, and other manufactured products.
  • Service-specific warranty coverage based on the repair system or service performed.

Foundation and structural repairs interact with existing buildings, soils, groundwater, drainage, and other conditions outside the contractor’s control. Warranty coverage for a specific repair does not guarantee that surrounding soils, unsupported portions of a foundation, or other areas of a structure will never experience future movement.

Warranty coverage varies based on the service performed, products installed, project conditions, and applicable warranty terms.

Can Drainage Affect My Foundation Repair Warranty?

Yes. Proper drainage is an important condition of foundation performance and warranty coverage.

Property owners are responsible for maintaining positive drainage away from the foundation. Dirt, lawn, gravel, and similar ground cover should maintain a minimum 5% slope away from the foundation, while concrete and other non-porous surfaces should maintain positive drainage away from the structure.

Drainage conditions should be regularly inspected and maintained to prevent water from accumulating around the foundation.

Improper drainage can contribute to soil movement, settlement, heave, erosion, water intrusion, and other foundation problems. Warranty coverage may be excluded or voided when inadequate drainage contributes to the condition for which warranty service is requested.

What Else Can Affect Foundation Repair Warranty Coverage?

Foundation repair systems are designed for the conditions and structural loads evaluated at the time of repair. Warranty coverage may be affected by conditions including improper drainage, structural alterations, additional building loads, movement of unsupported portions of the structure, misuse or alteration of the repair system, or other conditions outside the original scope of work.

For example, adding significant weight to a structure after foundation repairs—such as an addition, another story, or substantial structural modifications—can change the loads placed on the existing foundation and pier system.

If you are planning significant structural changes to a building supported by Ram Jack piers, contact Straight Line Construction so the existing foundation repair can be evaluated before construction begins.

Does a Foundation Repair Warranty Cover the Entire House?

Not necessarily.

Foundation repairs are designed to address specific areas and conditions identified during the evaluation of the property. Installing piers along one portion of a foundation does not guarantee that another unsupported portion of the foundation cannot experience future movement.

Likewise, foundation stabilization or lifting does not guarantee that doors and windows will operate perfectly or that cosmetic conditions such as cracks, flooring, drywall, brick, mortar, paint, stucco, or other finishes will return to their original condition.

Is Access to a Warranted Pier Covered?

Access to a warranted pier is generally separate from coverage of the pier itself.

Landscaping, concrete, decks, patios, flooring, walls, additions, or other improvements installed over or around repaired areas can restrict access to the pier. Excavation, demolition, removal, replacement, or restoration necessary to gain access to a warrantied component may be the property owner’s responsibility.

Why Does the Ram Jack Warranty Trust Matter?

A foundation repair warranty may need to provide protection many years after the original repair is completed. The value of that warranty depends in part on having a way to obtain eligible warranty service in the future.

The Ram Jack Dealers Limited Warranty Trust provides an additional layer of protection for qualifying pier installations if the original participating Ram Jack dealer becomes inactive or is otherwise unavailable to fulfill an eligible warranty obligation.

For homeowners making a significant investment in foundation stabilization, that additional long-term protection is one of the advantages of choosing a qualifying Ram Jack pier system installed by Straight Line Construction.

About Ram Jack

Ram Jack is a family-owned business that began operations in 1968, in Ada, OK, where we currently source our piers and brackets. Back then, concrete piering was the original repair method used simply because it was the only technology available at the time. Over time, it became evident that concrete piers did not provide long-term stabilization of foundations and only provided a short-term warranty period. To guarantee the highest grade of customer satisfaction, a greater solution needed to be found.

The Ram Jack owners embarked on a research program to develop a foundation repair system to stand the test of time. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office first issued a patent to Ram Jack for its foundation repair system in 1985. Over the next few years, additional refinements and patents have followed, resulting in the strongest patented system in the industry. Ram Jack driven pilings are ICC-ES recognized (International Construction Code—Evaluation Services). Ram Jack is one of only two ICC-ES recognized foundation repair companies in the industry. Ram Jack’s products meet or exceed code requirements set down by ICC-ES for both commercial and residential properties.
